Event Description
The Nations League is a new football tournament introduced to replace friendly fixtures between the European national sides. The league phase is held from September to November where sides will compete against others in their “mini-leagues” of three. Teams can then gain promotion or relegation to different tiers based on their performance. Teams in the top four groups can qualify for the semi-finals which take place in June (2019’s hosts will be Portugal). Successful teams can also use this tournament as a way of qualifying for Euro 2020.
