BOBBY’S BEST WEEKEND BETTING EVENTS – 24TH-25TH MAY

DAiZhXYAI

Soccer – League Two Play-Offs – Newport vs Tranmere

The first of our big betting events takes place at Wembley, with a big weekend of play-off action taking place at the National Stadium.

This game is an intiguing one as it involves two extremely well-organised sides, both of whom are adept at keeping clean sheets. Although that might not neccessarily sound like a recipe for entertainment, it will still be a fascinating match-up.

Mike Flynn’s side have been absolutely incredible this season, and the casual football fan is likely to remember them from their FA Cup exploits which saw them beat Premier League opposition. They are a fairly unfashionable set of players, but they will always give 100%, and thrive on being the underdog.

Luckily for them, Tranmere have been priced up as the favourites for this encounter, and the bookies fancy Mickey Mellon’s side to return to League One.

Newport are the epitome of a hard-working, dogged and diligent team, and even though Tranmere possess the prolific James Norwood, he may have a frustrating afternoon in West London. He netted the equaliser against Forest Green which helped send the Wirral outfit through, but he will come up against a top goalkeeper in Joe Day, and the likes of Mark O’Brien and Mickey Demetriou.

During the regular season, Tranmere failed to find the net against the South Walians, and they will have to come up with something special this time around. The games ended 0-0 and 0-1 this camaign, so don’t expect it to be raining goals in this one. The odds reflect the notion that it could be a tight game, and extra time and penalties may be required to separate the pair.

Newport are incredible when it comes to knock-out football, and have a formidable team spirit. They will relish the occasion, and having already beaten some of football’s big boys, they are unlikely to be fazed by the importance of the day.

The Exiles are also incredibly effective from set-pieces, so as-and-when the deadlock is broken, it is likely to be a header from a free-kick or long throw.

As a spectacle, this isn’t going to light up Saturday afternoon, but it is a very intriguing betting heat, and there isn’t much between the two sides on paper. Newport are the outsiders here, but the odds should be theoretically much closer, and it is going to be a intriguing tactical battle between two sides who are incredibly difficult to penetrate.

You can watch the League Two Play-Off Final in the UK on Sky Sports Football on Saturday afternoon.

Soccer – Portuguse Cup Final – Sporting vs Porto

Both Sporting CP and Porto may have missed out on the Liga NOS title, but there is the chance to secure some silverware this weekend as they face one another (again) in the final of the Taca de Portugal. It is the second of our big betting events.

These two sides met on the final day of the regular season, with Porto winning 2-1. As always, it was a feisty affair, and the referee dipped into his pocket as early as the 19th minute. Unless their appeals are overturned, both Borja and Jesus Corona will miss the Cup final after being dismissed last weekend, and that is a blow to their respective managers.

One player who will feature is Militao, who will play his final game for FC Porto. Ahead of his summer move to Real Madrid, he bid the fans farewell, and will be keen to end his spell on a high.

Marcel Kaizer admitted he was disappointed with his side’s display last weekend, although he did describe the performance as “reasonable”. He will be hoping for a little more from his side, who finished eleven points behind their rivals. FC Porto have had the monopoly in recent years, winning each of their last three home meetings 2-1, as well as drawing the away fixtures 0-0. They have the psychological advantage, and are understandably favourites. However, these are one-off games, and absolutely anything can happen!

Sporting CP have already ousted Benfica from the competition over two legs, and they have been excellent in the Taca de Portugal in recent years. They will also be desperate to bounce back from their disappointing result in last season’s final, where they were beaten by Deportivo Aves.

There is unlikely to be much between these two sides, and the last couple of meetings in this competition have both ended 1-0 to the home side. Sporting CP snuck through on penalties, and this game may also go all the way.

Another fascinating battle between two of Portugal’s top three sides, and it is set to be a terrific match-up. Expect quality football, and a flurry of cards.

UK Soccer fans can enjoy this game via online bookmakers live streaming services.

Soccer – League One Play-Offs – Charlton vs Sunderland

It’s a busy weekend for soccer fans with another Play-Off fixture taking place at Wembley Stadium. Many fans will look back fondly on the 4-4 draw between the pair when they last met in this end-of-season competition.

It’s been a strange season for Sunderland, who were under a lot of pressure to return to the Championship at the first time of asking. The Black Cats hired Jack Ross, and bought fairly senisbly. They later added Will Grigg to their squad, although the Northern Irishman has failed to really fire so far.

Charlton have been the model of consistency this season, although they come into this off the back of a potentially worrying defeat to Doncaster at the Valley. The Addicks will also be backed by a decent sized following, although that may be dwarfed by the sheer volume of supporters travelling down from Wearside.

Lee Bowyer’s side reached the play-offs last year, but fell short against Shrewsbury, and will be desperate to get the job done this time around.

These two sides met on the opening day of the season with Sunderland falling behind after just ten minutes, they fought back, and managed to secure three points in stoppage time. This could be a very dramatic and entertaining 90 minutes.

Charlton’s young side is full of skill, and unpredictability, whilst Sunderland rely on organisation coupled with individual moments of magic. Chris Maguire was the hero in the semi-finals, and the former Oxford man is likely to play a significant role once more.

The Addicks will be relying on Krystian Beilik to keep things ticking over. The Arsenal midfielder has been superb this season, and he will need to be at his imperious best here. Lyle Taylor and Joe Aribo are their main danger men.

One of the things which makes this tie even more intriguing is the fact that the bookies are struggling to separate them. The betting is extremely close, and there is barely anything between them.

We aren’t expecting eight goals this time around (although it would be most welcome), but it should be hugely entertaining watch. Both of these sides would love to return to the Championship, and there was just three points between them at the end of the regular campaign. This should be a cracker!

League One fans can enjoy all of the action from Wembley on Sky Sports Football this weekend.

Aussie Rules – AFL – St.Kilda vs Carlton Blues

When it comes to the AFL fixtures this weekend, this is far from the glamour tie. However, I’ve picked it out because it is an intriguing match-up, and an interesting betting heat. That’s the main reason why it is the final big betting event of the weekend.

It’s been a horrible start to the season for Carlton, who sunk to their eighth defeat of the campaign last weekend. Not only were they defeated, they were trounced by GWS 138-45, and they need to recover quickly. Former Carlton captain Mark Maclure called the defeat “embarrassing”, and told the press that many people “should be worried about their positions”.

However, they will be able to regroup this week, and look forward to a tie with an out-of-form and injury hit side. St Kilda started very positively, and were amongst the early pacesetters, but they’ve sunk in recent weeks, and they have now lost four on the bounce. They have fallen to 16th on the ladder, following their 112-71 defeat to the high-flying Magpies.

Despite their tonking, St.Kilda are the odds-on favourites for this game, and they will certainly have a little more confidence than their opponents.

The Saints picked up a resounding win here last season with a 116-52 victory, and a repeat is highly likely, but Carlton will be set up to avoid another heavy loss. They have collected just four points this campaign, but they aren’t too far behind the Kangaroos, and they will be hoping to avoid finishing bottom.

It’s an interesting match-up between a sink falling down the ladder at an alarming rate and a side who are rooted to the foot. St.Kilda have won the last two fixtures here, and they should be able to continue their dominance in this match-up.

BT Sport have coverage of the AFL this season, and viewers in the UK can catch highlights of every single game this year.

Best Bets of the Day – Sunday, May 19th 2019

Kilmarnock

Kilmarnock v Rangers
Scottish Premiership – 3.00 pm
BT Sport

There is an exciting climax to come in the Scottish Premiership this weekend. The race for third place is on. A third-place finish means automatic entry into the Europa League first qualifying round. The fourth-place finisher would get that prize too, but only if Celtic win this season’s FA Cup. After a superb season, Kilmarnock are the ones trying to defend third place on the weekend.

They have to match whatever Aberdeen do in their game on Sunday, to lock down that third place finish. Killie have had a good season on home soil. They have posted a W11 D2 L5 record this season, winning three of their last four. Seven of Kilmarnock’s home wins this season have by at least a two-goal margin. They are, however, 10/3 underdogs with top bookmakers for this game.

Rangers will finish second regardless. But they are going into this on the back of a 2-0 home win over Celtic in last weekend’s Old Firm derby. That was their sixth straight league win and they have won their last two out on the road as well. Rangers scored exactly three goals in both of those wins. The Gers on an eleven match scoring streak in the league and are going to prove a difficult opponent for Killie. Rangers are 4/5 to win this, but they only won one of their last four visits to Rugby Park.

Napoli v Inter Milan
Serie A – 7.30 pm
Premier Sports

Napoli have secured a second place finish in Serie A, so they are heading to the Champions League next season. They are taking a three-match winning streak into this fixture. While there is nothing at stake for them in this one, it hasn’t prevented the leading bookmakers putting them as 6/4 favourites for the match victory. They have, after all, had a very strong season on home soil with a W12 D4 L2 record. The two losses in Naples though were against current top four sides.

That’s Inter Milan’s realm. Inter are on course for a top-four finish. They have not secured that feat mathematically and could be caught still. There would be pressure on them if they were to suffer a loss in this tough road game. Inter are carrying some good form at the moment as they are undefeated in their last seven games, winning three of those. They have won three of their last four away games (D1) as well.

The interesting thing here is that this game means a lot more to Inter, who are 9/5 to win, than it does for the hosts. If they don’t win this game and the three teams immediately beneath  them in the table all get wins, there is going to be a huge scrap for the final Champions League place. It will all be down to the final day of the season for that prize. So this one is a big feature of the Best Bets of the Day for Sunday. Can Inter get three points which would guarantee that they head to the UCL next season?

Celtic v Hearts
Scottish Premiership – 3.00 pm
Sky Sports

And so the curtain will come down on another successful Premiership campaign by Celtic. Even with a change of manager part of the way through, they still powered their way to success. But despite no challenger really emerging to their supremacy, interim boss Neil Lennon is a man under pressure.

The Next Celtic Manager betting market is fired up at the moment as punters expect Celtic not to keep him on next season. Lennon was brought in after Brendan Rodgers parted company with the Glasgow club to go to Leicester. Celtic have taken just two wins in their last five league games (D2 L1) and the loss was against rivals Rangers in their last game. So that drop in form is the main reason for all the speculation over Lennon’s future.

Celtic will be defending an unbeaten home record in the Premiership this season (W16 D2) as they host Hearts. Celtic are 5/4 with leading bookmakers to win this game to nil. That’s because Hearts are in a mess. Hearts have only managed the one clean sheet from their last six league outings. They have posted a D1 L3 record in their last four on the road as well. They will finish sixth in the table regardless, and may just keep something back for when they meet Celtic again in the FA Cup Final the following weekend.

Best Bets of the Day – Saturday, May 18th 2019

Watford FA Cup

Bayern Munich v Frankfurt
Bundesliga – 2.30 pm
BT Sport

The Bundesliga title is going all the way to the wire then. We have an exciting climax coming up on Saturday. At least on paper. Bayern Munich are in the driving seat to defend their title and only need a point to secure that. They missed a chance to wrap up the league title last weekend when they were frustrated in a 0-0 draw away from home at RB Leipzig. They are 1/4 odds-on with top bookmakers to pick up the home win on the weekend.

This is a chance for them to win the title again in front of their home fans. So that may be a better way for them to end the season. Bayern are on a ten-match winning streak on home soil in league action, so they are going to take some stopping. This is a tricky game for them though because Frankfurt have it all to play for. If Bayern lose this game, then it could allow Dortmund to rip the title away from them.

Frankfurt, who were losing Europa League semi-finalists against Chelsea, still have a shot at a top-four finish in the Bundesliga. So they have it all to play for on the weekend. They are only one point out of fourth, as they try and muscle their way past Mönchengladbach and Leverkusen. It’s been a tremendous season from Frankfurt until lately at least. They have managed just two points from their last five games. They are a great attacking team but have to balance a shot at the top four, with securing a point that would guarantee them a Europa League spot.

Moenchengladbach v Dortmund
Bundesliga – 2.30 pm
BT Sport

The plan ahead for Dortmund is plain and simple. They have to collect three points in this game. They also have to see Bayern Munich lose against Frankfurt. That is the only way that BVB manage to get their hands on the league title. It looked at one stage that Dortmund were just going to run away with things in the Bundesliga title race. But slowly they were ground down by the reigning champions Bayern Munich.

Dortmund are 23/20 with top bookmakers to do their part and win this game. What those odds hint at, of course, is that they are not in line for an easy game. Dortmund have taken just two wins in their last seven league away games. So there’s that. There’s also the fact that they are taking on Monchengladbach who are going to be defending their top four place on the weekend.

Mochengladbach are sitting fourth, only on a narrow goal difference advantage over Leverkusen. So Monchengladbach can’t afford to lose heavily. So do they sit in and try and defend or look for three points to secure their Champions League place? Monchengladbach are 2/1 to get their win. So theirs is the other fascinating story in this fixture along with the title race for Dortmund. It should be one of the games of the weekend, offering plenty of best bets of the day opportunities for punters.

Manchester City v Watford
FA Cup Final – 5.00 pm
BBC

Premier League title? Check. EFL Cup title? Check. Manchester City have two of the three domestic titles in the bag this season, can they make it a treble on the weekend? The Citizens have won 20 of their last 22 games in all competitions (D1 L1). It has been a stunning run from them. They will go into Saturday’s FA Cup final as 1/4 favourites with leading bookmakers. This would be their sixth FA Cup success, their first since 2011.

City beat Watford in both league meetings this season. Now that their exhausting title defence is over, they should be more relaxed too. This may be good timing for them because Watford have fallen out form at the end of the season. The Hornets have won just one of their last six games in all competitions and have failed to take a clean sheet in any of their last fourteen. The Hornets are 14/1 to pull of the cup upset (90 minutes market) as they seek their first ever FA Cup crown.

Deontay Wilder v Dominic Breazeale
Boxing – 3.00 am (Sunday)
Sky Sports

It looks as if we are going to have to wait a while for a big heavyweight divisional showdown. Deontay Wilder puts his undefeated career record on the line once again on the weekend. This is the first time back in the ring for the Bronze Bomber since his epic draw with Tyson Fury. A rematch with Fury was expected to be next for Wilder, or maybe a showdown against Anthony Joshua. It’s neither and he now need to move past Dominic Breazeale who has been coming for him.

Wilder is as short as 4/11 to win this by a knockout, such is the power of the man. All but one of his pro career victories have been by a knockout. It will be interesting to see his reaction now that his perfect career record was blighted by Fury, who Wilder knocked down twice but still couldn’t finish. In fact, Wilder was out-boxed in the match.

Is that likely to happen in this one? For Breazeale, this is his second shot at the heavyweight title having lost to Anthony Joshua back in 2016. He is a well-rounded boxer and has won his three-fights since his defeat to Joshua. But this is such a huge step up in class to anyone he has faced in his career except for Joshua. He has only been taken the distance twice in his career though and top bookmakers have this at 2/7 to not go the distance.

Best Bets of the Day – Friday, May 17th 2019

Joe Root

England v Pakistan
4th ODI Cricket – 12.30 pm
Sky Sports

England have produced some fine form in the ODI series against Pakistan. After a no result in their first scheduled match, England have gone on to win the following two. The first of those successes was a 12 run victory by the hosts in Southampton. Then they cut loose at Bristol in the third match. England backers will see plenty of best bets of the day on them.

Pakistan had put a good score of 358 on the board after opening the batting. Their score was helped by a career-best by Imam el Huq of 151. It should have been more, but England did a great job of reining them in over the last half a dozen overs. They stifled their attack. Still, that was a big total to chase down, but England made it look ever so easy. England won by six wickets.

Their top scorer was Jonny Bairstow who fired off 128 from just 93 balls. All England’s batsmen who came to the crease, put in significant scores. Pakistan were looking a depleted side at the end of that match and are 11/5 underdogs to produce a win at Trent Bridge on Friday. Leading bookmakers have England at 4/11 odds-on. That performance at Bristol was special, again confirming that England are the favourites for this summer’s World Cup.

Charlton v Doncaster
League One Play-Off Semi-Final – 7.45 pm
Sky Sports

Charlton hold an advantage in this League One playoff semi-final. They paid a visit to the Keepmoat for the first leg and came away with a 2-1 success against Doncaster. It could have been better for them after having put both of their goals on the board in the first half of the match. However, the Addicks conceded a goal three minutes from time. You wonder how important that one is going to be.

It was a late goal that just about keeps Doncaster in the tie. However, they are going to have to defy 7/2 underdog odds to pull through to the play-off final. During the regular season, Charlton produced a magnificent home record of W16 D5 L2. They have won their last six games at The Valley. That’s what Doncaster are up against. Charlton are 10/11 odds-on with top bookmakers to win at home on Friday to seal the deal.

But Doncaster may be able to take some hope from their 2-0 win there in the FA Cup back in December. The winner of this tie will face either Portsmouth or Sunderland in the League One Play-Off Final on May 26th.

Dundee United v Inverness
Scottish Championship Play Off Semi Final – 7.45 pm
Sky Sports

This is the second leg of this playoff tie to try and earn a place in the Premiership next season. There is still everything to play for. Dundee United will be defending an advantage that they hold. They picked up a 1-0 away win in the first leg which means that they are ahead in the tie, plus are heading home for the second leg. The top bookmakers support their favouritism as well. The Tangerines as 8/11 favourites to pick up the victory.

Dundee United finished second in the table at the end of the regular Championship season, nine points clear of third-placed Inverness. Despite that huge gulf in points earned, surprisingly the two clubs finished with almost identical records in the goals for and goals against stats. They both conceded exactly 40 goals. The only difference was that Dundee United scored 49 goals to Inverness’s 48.

So this was always likely to be a tight scrap. This will be the eleventh game between them this season. The head to head from those is in Dundee United’s favour at W3 D2 L1. Just one of those six previous meetings made it over 2.5 goals. The glimmer of hope for Inverness, despite being 4/1 underdogs, is that their only victory over Dundee United this season happened at Tannadice in an FA Cup tie just back in March.

Who will be the fourteenth English European Champions?

Tottenham and Liverpool

On June 1, Tottenham and Liverpool will meet at the Wanda Metropolitano, Madrid, to decide the winner of the 2018-19 Champions League, a finale that will represent a proud day for English football fans and all of those associated with the national game.

In fact, the success of the Premier League in European competition is illustrated by the fact that two other English teams; Manchester City and Manchester United, got as far as the quarter-finals of the Champions League, while another two; Chelsea and Arsenal, are set to fight out the final of the Europa League in Baku three days before the Champions League set piece.

Both teams reached the final courtesy of dramatic semi-final second legs, with both appearing to be on their way out of the competition at various stages. But Tottenham prevailed in Amsterdam against Ajax with a goal by Lucas Moura in the very last moments of the game, while Liverpool staged one of football’s most remarkable comebacks, overturning a 3-0 first leg deficit against Barcelona to win 4-3 in what was a memorable night on Merseyside.

So, who will prevail in this battle of English football? According to the bookmakers, Liverpool are the overwhelming favourites. Betcris have them installed as the -104 favourites, with Tottenham at +293 and the normal time draw priced up at +239.

On the basis of league form, it is hard to argue about those odds. Liverpool, who missed out on the Premier League title by a single point, finished an astonishing 26 points ahead of Tottenham, who ended their campaign in fourth, one point ahead of rivals Arsenal.

But their two Premier League meetings were much closer than their finishing positions in the league might suggest. At the end of March, Liverpool edged out their London rivals 2-1 at Anfield, thanks to a 90th minute own goal from Toby Alderweireld; a result that was harsh on the visitors. And 2-1 was the final score in their first league encounter of the season, back in September, when Liverpool edged it thanks to goals from Georginio Wijnaldum and Roberto Firmino.

The good news for fans and neutrals alike is that both teams will be more or less at full strength. The biggest doubt is Tottenham striker Harry Kane, who has been out for two months with ankle ligament damage, but he is reportedly confident of being fit for the big game, while Liverpool striker Firmino is also expected to be fit, and will once again play alongside Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

These two teams are old adversaries, of course, and that can sometimes make for a tense and scrappy stalemate, but given the swashbuckling style and drama that they have produced so far in this competition, there is every chance that the Champions League final could be as thrilling as the semi-finals, and serve as a fitting way to end what has been a rollercoaster of a season.

Can Anyone Stop Golden State?

Steve.Kerr .GSW .Huddle

The NBA is no stranger to dynasties. The Boston Celtics in the 1960s, the Los Angeles Lakers in the 1980s and early 2000s, and the Chicago Bulls in the 1990s have all made the NBA their kingdom, stringing together multiple championships and engraving their name on the history of the sport.

But the latest franchise to dominate the league is arguably the most impressive yet. Under the guidance of Steve Kerr, who was himself a key part of that great Chicago Bulls side, the Golden State Warriors have graced the NBA with some spectacular basketball in the last few seasons.

In 2015, 2016 and 2018, they reigned supreme, and their one slip came in 2017, at the hands of one of the game’s greatest ever players, Lebron James, and the Cleveland Cavaliers. This season, once again, fans of the NBA tuning in to watch on Sky have the chance to see Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson claim the NBA title.

Golden State have, once again, defeated the Houston Rockets, and now only Portland Trailblazers stand between them and the NBA finals. The betting markets suggest that neither Portland nor whichever contender emerges from the Eastern Conference final, will be able to prevent Golden State from earning a fourth NBA Championship in five years. The Warriors are as low as 4/7 with some bookmakers, while their likeliest Finals opponents, the Milwaukee Bucks, are 11/4.

Portland will be no pushovers. They came through a tough series against the Denver Nuggets and have plenty of experience to call upon. But Golden State know all about them, and even though they will be without Kevin Durant for the series opener, they have the depth to brush aside their Western Conference opponents. In fact, Durant’s injury, sustained in Game Five against Houston underlined how formidable an organisation they are. In his absence, the Warriors bench players stepped up and gave regular starters Thompson, Curry and Green the platform to secure a 4-2 series win.

What about the Eastern Conference? Milwaukee, powered by the Greek Freak Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kawhi Leonard’s Toronto Raptors would both be strong opponents, with the depth and grit to push the Warriors deep into the series.

But that squad depth that Golden State called upon against Houston complements another key aspect of their dominance: their determination. In many ways, this has been a less than ideal season for Golden State, plagued with speculation about the future of Durant and Green, which in turn underlined a messy public spat between the two, and complicated by the injury problems of DeMarcus Cousins. And yet, they have come through all of it, to once again win the Western Conference and once again progress to the Western Finals, setting records along the way.

The biggest challenge for Golden State may come next year, when, as seems inevitable, Kevin Durant moves away. But given the resilience they have shown this season, it would be a brave person to write them off next year, and punters looking for the best odds on Bigbetbookmakers ahead of the 2019-20 season will bet against them at their peril.

Can Watford Cause An Upset?

Manchester.City

The FA Cup is the oldest domestic football competition in the world, and although it may have lost some of its lustre since the rise of the Premier League, it is still a piece of silverware that every team wants to win.

And, for teams like Watford, who lack the budget to compete with the Premier League Big Six, it is the biggest domestic trophy that they have a realistic chance of winning.

That doesn’t mean to say that the Big Six haven’t also dominated this tournament. In fact, of the nineteen FA Cup Finals this century, fourteen have been won by one of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United, while Liverpool and Manchester City have accounted for another three. Only Portsmouth in 2008 and Wigan in 2013 have been able to strike a blow for the rest of English football.

And this year’s Big Six contender for FA Cup glory just happens to be the most successful Premier League team in history. Manchester City clinched the league title last weekend, having accumulated an astonishing 98 points during the season, though this figure is two less than the record-breaking 100 points they amassed last season. With the League Cup already in their cabinet, Pep Guardiola’s team are aiming for an unprecedented domestic treble.

Those impressive credentials, combined with the fact that there is no subsequent European final to distract from their preparations for this game, have resulted in City being overwhelming favourites with sports betting companies. Betcris rate them as -476 favourites, with Watford marked up as big +1224 outsiders, and the draw priced at +575.

Another factor to consider is Watford’s poor form at the end of the season. They had everything to play for, with an outside possibility that finishing seventh in the Premier League might earn them a spot in next season’s Europa League, but they lost six of their last nine fixtures, including a 4-1 thrashing by West Ham on the final day, and ended the season in eleventh position.

Their path to the final was also relatively straightforward, with victories over Woking, Newcastle and QPR, followed by narrow wins against fellow mid-table Premier League sides Wolves and Crystal Palace, none of which suggests that they have the potential to challenge City in the final.

But the beauty of the FA Cup is that outside possibility of a shock in a one-off game, and Watford will certainly be well-prepared for this encounter. Manager Javi Gracia has moulded a team that is well-organised, resilient and tough, led by the redoubtable Troy Deeney, who will lead from the front as always, and backed up by the technique and creativity of Gerard Deulofeu and Roberto Pereyra. And for those who put their faith in FA Cup omens, the way that Watford stormed back to overhaul a 2-0 deficit in the final minutes of their semi-final could suggest that their name is on the Cup.

Whatever the outcome, it promises to be a spirited end to the English domestic season, and we can be sure that Watford will offer stiff opposition in the biggest game in the club’s recent history.
